Inner Alchemy welcomes Jen Maurice as our November Artist

Jen Maurice is an internationally known multi-media collage artist. Her interest in collage began as a teenager when her bedroom walls were plastered with butcher paper covered in images and found objects that had caught her attention and her heart. That drive to create was put on the back burner for many years as Jen worked and raised a family on her own. As she neared retirement and life’s demands became fewer, that creative fire was rekindled. Although not religious, Jen feels an affinity for religious and spiritual icons. The creation process of collage using these images has become part of her spiritual practice. Each collage begins with a gentle nudge of an idea. That idea is then allowed to express itself through Jen on to canvas. The process is organic, fluid and intuitive. A form of deep meditation. It can take many days for a piece to be completed as Jen waits for guidance from her muse indicating the next step in the creative dance.
