Sunshine & Twine Art Walk and Community Party

Sunshine&Twine chakra.JPG

Inner Alchemy is proud to present our first fiber artist, Elise Powers!

Elise enjoys art as an exploration of texture using traditional hand techniques like knotting and weaving, utilizing materials from nature such as cotton, wool, leather, copper, crystals, and wood to create wall art, artisan goods, and fiber jewelry.

Working with materials from the earth is, by nature, extremely grounding. Ellise loves gathering up all the materials forager-style, and later stepping back and seeing her creation, just as she envisioned it when it was nothing more than a pile of sticks and rocks and string.

From painting and writing to knotting and weaving, creating has always been a return back to herself. Elise finds that working with fiber, more than any other medium, allows her to create in a way that is mindful and deliberate, using intuition and muscle memory to guide her from one knot to the next.

Join us for a lovely evening, enjoying Elise's beautiful creations including a unique piece she made for this that includes chakra stones.

Our community party includes sip&nibbles, complimentary mini sessions with our wonderful Specialists, and great shopping with high quality procured retail.

Elise is Seattleite at heart, though she was born in Alaska and spent much of her childhood in Wyoming, Florida and a few places in-between. In 2016 she graduated from Western Washington University with a BA in English literature and a minor in writing studies. Elise is a fiber enthusiast, a lover of books, dogs, coffee, sunny days, and water without ice. She’s a macramé maker, a sewist, an avid thrifter, a yoga teacher, a writer, and a fly-by-the-seat-of-her-pants kinda gal.

Her love of learning and mastering new skills and mediums means that her work has evolved and grown through many phases over the years, but one thing stays constant: she loves to create things and share them with people.
