Inner Alchemy's Spring Cleaning for the Soul Presents:

Mindful Eating and Compassionate Living Class

An 8 week journey every Friday from 12-2:30pm starting April 20th until June 8th.

Do you notice yourself eating mindlessly and out of stress?
Would you like to reconnect to a joyful relationship with food & eating?
Would you like to give up the guilt associated with eating “too much,” “too little,” “too unhealthy?”
Would you like to practice compassionate self-care?

Mindful Eating is deliberately paying attention, being fully aware of what is happening both inside of yourself—in your body, heart, and mind—and outside of yourself, in your environment. It is to learn about our various hungers and how to feed ourselves and develop awareness of ourselves without judgment or criticism.
In this 8-week course, you will learn how to identify and address the different kinds of hungers we all have and how to care for the self with compassion through mindful eating. You will also learn foundational mindfulness practices to develop awareness of your experiences without judgment and learn to take better care of yourself by learning to trust your own intuitive sense of hunger and what you truly want to eat. You will also learn to listen to your own body’s cues and signals for what it wishes to eat and you will learn to give yourself what you really want—no one else gets to tell you what you need. That’s up to you!
What is Mindful Eating?

Mindful eating is a process of establishing a healthful and joyful relationship with food and developing an awareness and kind attention to our past conditioning around food. It is about learning about the 9 hungers that the body has and learning to relate differently to food and eating and we do this by reconnecting to the senses and the body. Mindful eating also teaches us about the differences between physical hunger and emotional hunger and learning to notice the difference between fullness and satiety

What Mindful Eating is NOT:

Mindful Eating is not a program to help gain or lose weight
It’s actually not about weight at all.
It is not about diet and nutrition
There will not be a diet or exercise plan handed out
There is no specific goal or outcome of what you should become
To register: email suhs@seattleu.edu or call 206-296-6409.
