Inner Alchemy explores "Identity" during the November Art Walk
"IDENTITY refers to the stable, defining characteristics of a person that makes them an individual. Having a solid sense of IDENTITY requires a thorough understanding of oneself, including one's own traits, preferences, thought patterns, strengths and weaknesses."
What a perfect time in our world to explore the idea of IDENTITY. Join us for our popular Art Walk and Community Party with gorgeous unique retail, complimentary mini sessions with our Inner Alchemy Practitioners, brand new crystals and gems and sips and nibbles.....always!
My identity cannot exist without the “other” because “Identities are created through ongoing social interactions with other people, and a subsequent self-reflection about who we think we are according to this social exchanges”.
This work is a self-reflection about these interactions and just another step in my constant attempt to define and redefine my own identity.
Meet Elena Naskova. Elena attended our Artist Workshop back in April.
Elena Naskova uses watercolor, acrylic, and oil to explore the inside and outside world, so she can notice, understand and connect better.
She immigrated to America from Macedonia when she was 25. She joined a ceramic studio in Los Angeles where she created ceramic art for many years. Eventually she had to sell her kiln and wheel because she moved to Seattle. In Seattle she started experimenting with paintings, using watercolor, acrylic, and recently oil.
Elena paints portraits, nature, human bodies, and she loves the freedom of abstract expression. She likes to explore different variations of an idea, or theme, by creating a series of paintings about the same subject matter.
Because of her Slavic and Eastern Orthodox heritage, some of her work, especially her portraits, is influenced by iconography.
